Concepts
Key terms and concepts used throughout Sailfish.
LEaPS
LEaPS stands for Logs, Exceptions/Errors, and Print Statements. These are the core telemetry signals that Sailfish captures from your backend services.
Issue
An issue is a user-facing problem tracked in Sailfish. Issues primarily come from customer reports flowing in through connected CS platforms (Zendesk, Salesforce, Pylon) or from the in-app Report Issue modal. Sailfish correlates each report with the user's session data and groups related occurrences.
Recording / Session
A recording (or session) captures a user's complete journey through your product — frontend interactions, backend traces, network requests, and exceptions — tied together by a single user identity and time window.
Workflow
A workflow is an automated rule that monitors your application and takes action when conditions are met. Workflows are configured by the Sailfish team during onboarding and consist of a trigger (schedule), condition (what to check), and action (what to do). To request new workflows or changes, reach out to your Sailfish team.
Triage
The process of evaluating an issue's impact, identifying affected users, and deciding what action to take — fix, escalate, or monitor.
